When you visit the home pages for these applications don't expect to see
linux listed as a supported platform just yet. They will run on Linux(I have not
yet tested any of the BSD's) with the use of
Wine,
but are still listed as windows only applications.

Cadvance is another Aut*cad compatable cadsystem.
It lists more features than I have room to write, and claim compatiblity thru R15. once
again I did not spend as much time here as i would have liked, but you can try it your self.
There is not not only a working demo, but a 2D lite version to play with also. Enjoy.

Rhino is a nurbs based modeler that is very easy
to learn and work with. It has a GUI that reminds me of blender only not as cryptic.
In less time than it takes the software to load you can start creating geometry(next
i'll have download the tutorial :-). It does have a few issues running under wine,
but i'm sure these can be tweaked. Rhino3d has a trial version that can either be
downloaded in one large zip fine or in 8 1.4K smaller files.
