TERRAFORM
is an Open Source height field manipulation program, written by Robert Gasch, and released under the
GNU General Public License (GPL). It is a program for UNIX and X and uses the Gtk+ and Gtk-- (the C++ wrapper for Gtk+).
How Nice. What can I do with it?
Terraform allows you to create fractal terrain (also called a height field) and transform it using a number of algorithms.
It is meant to be a tool for those who want to generate digital terrain models for use in raytracing or other simulations.
Cool! How finished is it?
Terraform is currently a work in progress. The basic engine works and is stable and the program should be pretty usable
by now. You will however run across bugs and half finished features. I plan to keep supplying updates to terraform at a
leisurly but steady pace over the coming months in the hope to eventually reach a polished and bug-free version 1.0.

TKMATMAN
is a tool that lets you interactively set and
adjust parameters to RenderMan shaders and preview
images with the given parameters. It can handle
surface, displacement, interior, exterior, atmosphere,
light and imager shaders and their combinations. The
idea for the program stemss from Sam Samai, who
wrote the very useful IRIX version. With the availability
of the Blue Moon Rendering Tools for different platforms
it now possible that a lot more people will use the RenderMan
interface and need ways to select their shaders.
