octree is an architectural cad package
At the moment it is only available as beta release. but it is
absolutly stable and has a full range of functionalities:
2d-drawing,
3d-solids,
extrusions/rotations,
networking/database sharing,
can handle very big databases,
architectural features like walls/openings/roofs/stairs (all 3d) will
soon be ready (some are already finished),
data-exchange by dxf,
export to radiance (raytracer),
new interface with mouse motion control -> fast acces to all menus/short,
cuts/large drawing area,
the reason for the "beta" is that it lacks a tutorial and help function.
when these are finished it will get a commercial package (price not
fixed yet 500-1000$ ?), but there will be a free version for students
and non-commercial work.
